A Tribute to the UAE’s Legacy

The inaugural edition of Mother of the Nation Festival (MoNF) hosted by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority on Abu Dhabi Corniche in March-April, 2016 was truly a first of its kind festival in the region. A  celebration of the inspirational values of the Mother of the UAE Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, MoNF turned out to be a cultural experience supporting women’s empowerment and rights.

MoNF featured a number of zones including a Souq that displayed the UAE’s unique culture and crafts, Beach that offered everything from street food to fine dining, Arts & Art Markets and ‘Active’ which proved to be a platform for physical activities. There was also a zone that featured the nation’s efforts at Conservation.

What made it so special was the fact that MoNF’s conservation efforts extended beyond the immediately visible to the basic structure of the concept itself. Container Conversion Technology, used to create 5120 square feet of ready-to-use retail and exhibition spaces, resulted in a venue that marked a further milestone in the nation’s efforts at sustainability. A wonderful example of an institution standing up for its ideals!
